Salterforth is a village and civil parish within the Borough of Pendle, Lancashire, England. The population of the Parish of Salterforth in 2021 was *827 people. 

The village is on the B6383 which runs from Kelbrook to Barnoldswick and the Leeds Liverpool Canal passes through the village just past The Anchor Inn.  There are several places for boats to moor up within walking distance of Salterforth.   

From a historical perspective the village was part of the West Riding of Yorkshire and used to be within the Skipton Rural District until 1974 when boundary changes took place.  Some of the area is still referred to as West Craven which comes from Salterforth's links with the Craven area of North Yorkshire.

Local towns and villages are; Barnoldswick - 1 mile (1.6 km) north west, Kelbrook - 2 miles (3.2 km) east, Earby - 2 miles (3.2 km) north east,  Thornton in Craven - 3 miles (4.8 km) north east, Foulridge - 2 miles (3.2 km) south and Colne - 3.5 miles (5.6 km) south.
